Terms of use
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These are the rules for playing GuessTheRide. By creating an account you agree to them. If you only play the dailies without an account, sections 4, 7, 9, 10 and 13 still apply to you.
1. Who runs the game
GuessTheRide is run by Filip Terzić, Praška 10, Belgrade, Serbia ("we"). You can reach us at privacy@guesstheride.com. The game is free.
2. Who can have an account
You must be at least 16 to create an account. Creating one asks you to confirm that you are, and an account can't be made without that.
3. Your account
- One account per person. Ranked is a ladder of people, so a second account is not allowed. That includes accounts made to play weaker opponents, to lose on purpose, or to feed wins to another account.
- Use your own email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think somebody else has used it, reset your password: that signs out every device.
- Your name on the ladder is one you choose: typed when you register, or confirmed on the first page after you sign in with Google, Discord or Apple. We never use the name on your Google, Discord or Apple account. Everybody can see it. You can change it from your profile once every 30 days. The name you leave is free as soon as you change it: anybody can take it, and a link to it then opens that person's page, or nothing if nobody has it. If you delete your account, or we hide your name, it is kept from everybody else for a while (the privacy policy says how long). It must not be offensive, must not pretend to be someone else, and must not advertise anything. We may hide or change a name that breaks this rule and tell you why.
4. Playing fair
In ranked matches and in the dailies:
- No automation. No bots, scripts, extensions or tools that read the screen, play for you, or look answers up for you.
- No outside help. Don't search for the answer, ask someone, or use image search while a round or a daily is running. Your daily streak is on a public board, so a daily is a competition too.
- No arranging results. No agreeing outcomes with an opponent and no losing on purpose.
- Bugs: if you find one that gives an advantage, tell us rather than use it.
5. Your picture
- You may upload a picture to show with your name. It must be yours to use, or free to use, and it must not be offensive, sexual, violent or hateful, show another real person without their agreement, or advertise anything.
- It shows as soon as you add it. Nobody looks at it first: one person cannot look at every picture. To make up for that, any signed-in player can report a picture (from the player's page, or from the match breakdown); when two different players who have had an account for a week and played at least three matches report it, it is hidden until a person has looked, and we may then remove it. A new account's picture is shown to other players only once the account is a day old or has finished a match. We may remove any picture at any time, and if we remove one the next waits for a person to look at it. You can replace or remove yours whenever you like.
- By uploading it, you let us store it and show it in the game for as long as it is on your account. You keep your rights to it, and you can remove it at any time.
6. Reports and what we can do
After a match, you can report your opponent's name, picture or play. A person reads reports.
If a rule in these terms was broken, we may, depending on how serious it was and whether it has happened before: remove a picture; hide a name (it is shown as "Player" and a short code until you choose another) or ask you to choose a new one; reset a rating, remove matches from the ladder, or take a streak off the streak board; suspend ranked matches and challenges for a number of days (the dailies and your profile keep working, and it ends by itself); or close the account. A suspension or a closure takes effect after the match you are in, except that closing an account in the middle of a match ends it as a forfeit by that player. A closed account leaves the ladder; its past matches keep their results for the other player. We will email you what we did, in one of four kinds (your name, your picture, how you played, or something else), and that you can write to us about it. We cannot promise when we will reply. Making a new account to get round a closure is itself a breach of these terms, and we keep a one-way scrambled form of a closed account's email address to stop the same address being used again. If you think we got it wrong, write to privacy@guesstheride.com and a person will look at it again.
7. Photographs, names and trademarks
- The car photographs come from Wikimedia Commons, under licences that allow them to be used and adapted, with credit. Each is credited to its photographer on the credits page, with its licence and a link to the original. We crop and colour-shift them in play.
- Car makers' names, model names and badges belong to their owners. GuessTheRide is not connected with, sponsored by or approved by any car maker.
- Everything else — the game, its design, its questions and its code — belongs to us. You may not copy it, scrape it, or make another product from it.
8. Ratings
Ratings measure results against other players. They have no money value and cannot be sold or transferred.
Three a day against one player. In any 24 hours, three ranked matches between the same two accounts count toward their ratings. If the queue pairs them again, the match is still played, but it is unrated, and the match screen says so from the first round. This is there to stop two accounts trading wins; for two players who simply keep meeting, it costs little. We may adjust how ratings are worked out as the game develops, and we may correct or reset ratings that came from breaking section 3 or 4.
9. The game may change
GuessTheRide is a free game in development. We may add, change or remove modes and features, pause the game for maintenance, or close it. We will give reasonable notice before closing it for good.
10. Responsibility
We work to keep the game running and your data safe, but we provide it as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by the game being unavailable, or by things outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer that the law does not allow to be taken away.
11. Ending
You can stop at any time and delete your account from your profile, as the privacy policy describes. We may close an account that has seriously or repeatedly broken these terms, under section 6.
12. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes. For a change that affects you in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the game, and by email where it matters, before it takes effect. If you do not agree to the new terms, you can delete your account; continuing to play after they take effect means you accept them.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Serbia. Disputes go to the competent court in Belgrade. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection that country's law gives you, and you can bring a claim in its courts.
